Portimão's Air Festival is the first of it’s kind in Portugal and is being held over 3 days:

ON each day expect exciting and amazing entertainment related to the world of aviation.
Make your way to the Riverside area of Portimão (Zona Ribeirinha) to watch the skies and also participate in the events taking place on land. Have fun!

IN THE AIR on each day between 3PM and 6PM look out for:
- The French acrobatic ‘Breitling Jet Team’ – acrobatic jet planes;
- Team Guinot with 2 Boeing Stearman & 2 ‘wingwalkers’ – one on each plane!
- The Portuguese team ‘Smokewings’ with 2 Yakovlev Yak 52;

- The World Aerobatics Champions: Ramón Alonso (the ‘winged wonder’ in Sukhoi SU 31) & Svetlana Kapanina (this lady has won the title in the women’s category more times than any other pilot).

- The Portuguese military helicopters Alouette III ‘Rotores de Portugal’
- The lynx helicopter from the Portuguese Navy’s squadron
- Parachute jumpers & ski divers

Bring your binoculars!
ON LAND, 25th April from 3PM to 7PM; 26th-27th April from 11AM to 7PM:
- Try your hand at piloting an airplane in the safety of a flight simulator (virtual flying);
- See demonstrations of radio-controlled model planes and talk to experts about this hobby;
- Have fun on the FreeFall simulators (wind tunnel);
- Stroll by the exhibition area with exhibits from local organisations and companies, e.g. Algarve Flying Schools and Flying Clubs, Airport organisations and others.
- Take your children to the bouncy castles in the kids entertainment area.
Note: the ‘operational base’ for the spectacular events in the air is Portimão’s Airfield at Montes de Alvor Road. At the airfield those interested will be able to take short flight trips.
