Visit German Tall Ship in Portimão


The impressive Gorch Fock participates in sailing parades and Tall Ships' Races.

The ship is a training ship and a museum and can be visited on the 30th November, 1st and 2nd of December from 2PM to 5PM when it will be berthed at Portimão docks.


The ship was built in Hamburg and was launched in 1958. The ship is based in Kiel, Germany.

Note: the Gorch Fock is sistership of the Sagres, the Portuguese training vessel built at the same docks (Blohm and Voss, Hamburg) in 1937.

Christmas is special in the Algarve


The festive season starts when thousands of decorative lights go up in town centres. This sets the scene for entertainment in the run up to Christmas and the New Year.

In Portimão at the main shopping Centre 'Continente' you will be able to enjoy Choral Singing and Big Band music.

The Grupo Coral Adágio will be entertaining on Sunday 2nd and 16th December from 11AM.

On Sunday 9th and 23rd at the same time you can enjoy the sound of the Sociedade Filarmónica Portimonense.
