Popular Brazilian Music singer Gal Costa at Praia da Rocha, 30th November 2009

Gal Costa is probably the best singer of the Popular Brazilian Music genre and she'll be touring the Algarve before visiting venues in Lisbon and Oporto.

Expect the singer from Bahia to take you on a voyage with music by Chico Buarque , Caetano Veloso, Tom Jobim and others. An acoustic, sophisticated and intimate concert.

Tarikavalli dances Bharatanatyam at TEMPO, Portimão, 14th November 2009



The TEMPO (Portimão’s Municipal Theatre) invites lovers of Classical Indian dance Bharatanatyam to enjoy the talented Tarikavalli. A lady with Portuguese origins that also teaches.

Tarikavalli will dance ‘Trimûrti or the 3 faces’. She will be accompanied by musicians flown from Bangalore.

8.00 -8.30 – Walk from the Dockside towards Portimão Riverside and then on to the centre of Portimão

8.30 – 9.15 – Visit Portimão’s Main Market (open 7AM till 2PM). A delight of fish and other Portuguese produce including the best fruit: the famous Algarve orange!

9.30 – 10.30 – Explore Praça da República; also know as the Alameda and visit Portimão’s baroque churches & Diogo Gonçalves Museum (open from 9.30)

10.30 -11.30 – Explore the shopping zone

11.45 – Make your way to Portimão’s Riverside and decide where to have lunch

12.00 – 13.00 Lunch @ Casa Inglesa or Clube Naval or Dona Barca or U Venâncio Restaurants

13.00 - 14.00 – Explore St Martinho’s Fair

14.00 – 15.00 – Visit Portimão’s City Museum

15.00 – Walk to Marina de Portimão and Praia da Rocha

15.30 – 16.30 - Explore Praia da Rocha

16.30 – Walk back to the docks & your ship

European Taekwondo Poomsae Championship, 14th-15th November 2009

Taekwondo is a martial art of Korean origin. It is an Olympic Sport.

Enjoy the action with competitors from several countries including Portugal, Hungry, Spain, Belgium, England, Check Republic, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Serbia, Holland, Austria, Israel, Turkey and France.

Some 400 athletes in competition from 19 countries!

Sunday 15th November 2009, 9AM to 8PM

With a ‘coaching’ session on Friday13th November 2009 from 4PM to 6PM & a master class on Saturday 14th November from 4PM to 5PM, both free of charge.
